Your address on the web

Domain registration and transfers

A domain name is the address people use to find your website and email. Register a new domain, or transfer one you already own after checking its status and renewal date.

Register a new domain

  1. Search for the name and extension you want.
  2. Check spelling, pronunciation, and whether it is easy to remember.
  3. Review registration and renewal pricing, registration period, and any eligibility rules for that extension.
  4. Keep the account email current and enable account security features offered by the registrar.
  5. Connect the domain to hosting by configuring its nameservers or DNS records.

Prepare to transfer a domain

Check transfer eligibility

Confirm the domain is unlocked, not in a restricted transfer period, and has a valid registrant contact email. Rules vary by extension.

Obtain the transfer code

For extensions that require one, request the authorization or EPP code from the current registrar.

Keep DNS working

Record the existing DNS zone and mail records. A registrar transfer does not always move DNS hosting automatically.

Important: transferring a domain registrar and moving website hosting are separate actions. Keep the existing service active until you have confirmed that the website, DNS, and email work as intended. HostRomeo advertises domain registration and transfers; check the current extension list, price, transfer requirements, and included renewal period at checkout.
